Brook Green DMC San Diego
Brook Green brings Southern California coastal expertise and a practical understanding of what makes a group program run smoothly to the most consistently pleasant MICE destination in the United States.
Our San Diego team understands what this city does better than anywhere else.
Outdoor events that never need a weather contingency, a bay and a coastline that put water at the centre of the program, and a compact geography where the airport sits ten minutes from downtown . Nothing worth doing is more than half an hour away.
In a destination where the setting does much of the work, Brook Green makes sure everything around it is faultless.

More about Brook Green USA
At Brook Green DMC San Diego, we help you navigate the American MICE landscape with confidence. Our multicultural team understands the business expectations, cultural nuances and service standards that international groups bring with them and the local knowledge required to meet them.
San Diego is a straightforward destination to operate in, which is precisely why it repays a partner who knows where the standards drop. The waterfront venues vary considerably in quality. Coronado books out further ahead than most planners expect. The best sailing operators are small and take one group at a time. We know which is which.
We know the best venues, hotels, beaches and experiences for your groups across San Diego.

Travel highlights San Diego
San Diego consistently rates among the highest-satisfaction corporate destinations in the United States, and the reason is not complicated. The weather is reliable to the point of being boring. It is mid-twenties, dry, almost every day of the year and this removes the single largest variable from outdoor program planning. A beach reception in February will happen. A rooftop dinner in October will happen. Nobody needs a wet weather alternative.
The geography helps as much as the climate. San Diego International sits three miles from downtown, which means a group can be at their hotel twenty minutes after landing. The Convention Center is on the waterfront, connected to a cluster of large hotels. Coronado is across the bay by bridge or ferry. La Jolla is fifteen minutes up the coast. The whole destination operates within a radius that most cities would consider a single district.
What San Diego offers beyond convenience is water. The bay is the working centre of the city: sailing, charters, waterfront venues, the naval fleet moving through it and the Pacific is on the other side of the peninsula. Programs here are shaped by the coastline rather than decorated with it.
Highlights across the region:
- Coronado and Hotel del Coronado: the Victorian beach resort that has hosted presidents, royalty and half of Hollywood since 1888, on one of the finest beaches in the continental United States
- Balboa Park: 1,200 acres of Spanish Colonial architecture housing seventeen museums, botanical gardens and the San Diego Zoo
- San Diego Zoo: among the most respected zoos in the world, available for private after-hours events
- La Jolla Cove: sea lions on the rocks, clifftop restaurants and some of the best snorkelling and kayaking in Southern California
- San Diego Bay: sailing regattas, private yacht charters, sunset cruises and the USS Midway Museum
- Gaslamp Quarter: sixteen blocks of Victorian buildings, restaurants and nightlife in the heart of downtown
- Whale watching: grey whales December to April, blue whales June to September, from Point Loma
- Torrey Pines: clifftop golf above the Pacific and a state reserve protecting the rarest pine species in North America
- Old Town San Diego: the site of the first Spanish settlement in California, with adobe buildings and the strongest Mexican food in the city
- Temecula Valley: Southern California wine country, an hour north, with more than forty wineries
- Point Loma and Cabrillo National Monument the headland where Europeans first landed on the West Coast, with views across the bay to Mexico
- Del Mar: the coastal town north of the city, its racetrack and the beaches that run up towards Encinitas
Program idea San Diego

The bay at golden hour: a regatta and a beach that closes for you
San Diego Bay in the late afternoon is the argument for holding your program here rather than anywhere else on the coast.
Your group leaves the dock mid-afternoon on a fleet of racing yachts — genuine boats with professional skippers, not a party barge with a sail. Delegates are split across the fleet and given roles: helm, trim, tactics. Nobody is a passenger. The skippers teach as they go, and within twenty minutes people who have never sailed are calling manoeuvres at each other.
Then the boats race. Around the marks, past the Coronado Bridge and the naval fleet, with the downtown skyline turning gold on one side and Point Loma on the other. It gets competitive faster than anyone expects, and the crews that started as strangers finish as a team with something to argue about over dinner.
The fleet lands at Coronado as the sun drops. On the beach, a private area has been set up and closed to the public for the evening — tables in the sand, fire pits lit, the Hotel del Coronado's red turrets behind and the Pacific in front. Dinner is Baja-influenced Southern California cooking: yellowtail from local waters, Dungeness crab, produce from the growers north of the city, tequila and Mexican wine from across the border.
The trophy goes to the winning boat. The arguments continue. As the light goes completely, the Del's lights come on behind the group, and there is a stretch of ten minutes when nobody says very much.
Ninety-six delegates, one afternoon, and no weather contingency required.

Combining San Diego with Los Angeles or San Francisco
San Diego works particularly well as the second half of a California program — the pace drops, the weather holds, and delegates arriving from the intensity of Los Angeles feel the change immediately. LA is two hours north by road; San Francisco is a short flight beyond it.
Our California teams work together, so a two or three-city itinerary is coordinated as one program rather than handed between operators.
Sustainability
Brook Green is committed to responsible destination management in San Diego — a coastal city whose economy, appeal and daily life depend directly on the health of the Pacific.
Our San Diego programs prioritise venues with recognised environmental certification, food sourced from Southern California growers and fishermen operating within sustainable catch limits, and reef and marine-safe practices on every water-based activity we run. The compact geography of the destination is an advantage here — short transfer distances mean lower transport emissions than almost any comparable US city program.
We work with locally owned charter operators, restaurants and experience providers, so that the money a corporate group spends stays within the community.
We provide carbon measurement and offset documentation for every San Diego program delivered, and we can build beach clean-ups, kelp forest restoration or marine conservation projects into a program as a team activity for groups with ESG reporting requirements.
